You think your hydro bill is bad. Listen to the story of Kip Van Kempen; he has a cottage north of Kingston. Last October he had a tree bring down a power line. Hydro One cam and cut the tree and disconnected the line but they were unable to repair the line because of red tape and logistical issues. 8 months later, Kip gets the power back on at his cottage. You can imagine his surprise to see his Hydro Bill and that Hydro One had charged him for delivery charges for the entire 8 months. They are arguing that they are supplying the hydro and if doesn’t use it, then it’s his problem. Needless to say, Kempen is suing the company for $7500. CTV News has the whole story and video.
