It’s a book about rock and roll from Mom’s perspective. “From Cradle to Stage: Stories From The Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars” includes interviews with the moms of Michael Stipe, Amy Winehouse, Dr. Dre, Mike D and Adam Levine. Dave wrote the foreword. It comes out April 25th.

Frankie Valli has chosen an odd collaborator for his upcoming Christmas album: Jeff Beck. They do a blues version of “Merry Christmas, Baby” for Valli’s holiday record, “’Tis the Seasons.” The album comes out October 14th.
And today marks the opening of TIFF – It’s the 41st annual that brings A-listers galore to Toronto for premiers and parties and kissy kissy…over the next ten days film makers roll out their latest – in all there are Nearly 400 films from 83 countries slated to screen at this year’s festival, which closes with “The Edge of Seventeen.” The film is a coming-of-age story about a high-school junior. It stars Hailee Steinfeld , Woody Harrelson, Kyra Sedgwick. Lots of redband trailers available so it’s a saucy one.
