Tom Hanks surprised a pair of newlyweds by photobombing their wedding photographs in New York. Hanks was walking through Central Park when he spotted Elisabeth and Ryan having their official wedding pics taken…Tom even shared the selfie on Instagram, showing the happy couple grinning alongside the actor. “Elizabeth and Ryan! Congrats and blessings! Hanx,” he captioned the shot.
Tragically Hip fans can have a say on what lyric will be engraved on a commemorative stone in Kingston. City officials say they consulted the band and the lyric options are “everybody was in it from miles around” from “Blow at High Dough” and “We danced the sidewalk clean” from “New Orleans is Sinking.” Along with the chosen lyrics will be the words “The Tragically Hip, A National Celebration, August 20, 2016.” Go online to vote at www.CityofKingston.ca/GetInvolved or by calling 613-546-0000 — you have until Oct. 12.
A life-size bronze tribute statue to the late Glenn Frey of the Eagles has been installed in the “Standing On The Corner” park in Winslow, Arizona. The statue depicts a long-haired, mustachioed Frey – the way he looked in the early 1970s. It joins the statue that many feel looks like Jackson Browne that has stood in the city’s downtown area since the late 1990s.
There is another “conscious uncoupling” (annoying way to say break up). This time, it’s Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts. After 11 years they are splitsville. In a joint statement, the couple says “it is with great love, respect and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this news phase of our relationship.” No actual marriage to dissolve – they have been together since 2005.
“The Breakfast Club” star Molly Ringwald will return to a New York stage in an adaptation of “Terms of Endearment.” Performances begin Oct. 29.
