In late September 2016 the South Simcoe Police Criminal investigation Bureau commenced a sexual assault investigation involving 3 female victims between the ages of 6-8yrs of age. The allegations involved events that took place in the Summer of 2016 in the Town of Innisfil. On September 30, 2016 a 73 year old Innisfil male was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Sexual Assault and 3 counts of Sexual Interference and was released with a November court date and several strict conditions to abide by.
As the investigation progressed, three more victims came forward. The new allegations date as far back as 1977 up to and including 2016. As a result, the 73 year old Innisfil male was re-arrested, held for a bail hearing and charged with an additional 3 counts of Sexual Assault, 2 counts of Sexual Interference and one count of Indecent Assault on a Female.
Total charges are 6 counts of Sexual Assault, 5 counts of Sexual Interference and 1 count of Indecent Assault on a Female. The male is being held in custody.
