Kempenfelt Rotary Club will be conducting their 3rd Annual Twoonie and Food Drive at 11 locations, between 11:00am and 2:00pm in support of the Barrie Food Bank. Their goal is to raise 15,000 pounds in a combination of food and twoonies with each twoonie being the equivalent of 4 pounds of food.
In the past two years the Kempenfelt Rotary Club has raised over 25,000 pounds of food with their annual drives and has made a significant difference to those families and individuals who use the services of the Barrie Food Bank.
The 11 locations include; Park Place, both Canadian Tire stores, Loblaw on Bayfield, Zehrs Big Bay Point, Zehrs Essa/Bryne and the new Zehrs at Cundles & Duckworth , Joe’s NoFrills, Roberts NoFrills, Freshco and the Sobeys in the south end.
Most Needed Items; Twoonies to purchase much needed perishable products, can pasta, can stew, can fruit, mayonnaise, jam, peanut butter, can salmon and tuna, breakfast cereal, pancake mix, can vegetables and nut free school snacks.
