The official word is in on Mapleview Drive and how the City of Barrie will be proceeding.
The city has decided to stick to the original plan to shut down Mapleview between Huronia/Country Lane staring Dec 5th for 7-14 days.
Crews will be working 2 12-hour shifts, non-stop- with the hope of getting traffic moving again ASAP.
The goal is to have two lanes functioning of free-flow traffic by January, & this shutdown will assist in ending the current 1-way shutdown.
Barrie Transit Detour:
- Route 8 will not service Mapleview Drive East between Yonge Street and Huronia Road, and will detour onto Lockhart Road then back on route.
- There will be a shuttle service route that will continue to provide transit services to the missed stops along Mapleview Drive East between Yonge Street and Huronia Road during peak service periods Monday to Saturday. This shuttle service will provide direct transit service connections to all GO train departures and arrivals.
