A Barrie man was stabbed in the stomach Tuesday morning. Police were called to a Dunlop Street residence in Downtown Barrie just after 5am. They found two men involved in an altercation. One man fled the scene, and ran into another building along Dunlop. Once inside the suspect barricaded himself and three other people inside an upper unit apartment. Police evacuated the two surrounding apartments.
The suspect, a 42-year-old Barrie male, was taken into custody without incident. The victim, a 26-year-old Barrie male, was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the abdominal area. The victim remains in stable condition.
