The push is on! Barrie and District Christmas Cheer has had a few days of bad weather and they are a little bit behind. They need to receive all donations from you by the next few days. They are packing up over 1800 hampers for local families. They are sitting at $95,000 but are way short of their $250,000 goal. What does the money buy? They need the money to go out and buy what they need to fill in the holes. People are incredibly generous but not everything is donated. They need the $250,000 to go out and buy turkeys, and food and in some cases, toys. You can help this weekend by stopping by to our Cram a Cruiser Event in Barrie. We’ll be working with Barrie Police and Barrie OPP at Walmart on Bayfield Street. We’ll be there from 10 till 7pm collecting toys, food and money for Christmas Cheer.
You can also go to the Barrie Colts Game tomorrow ( hosted by Cabella’s) night and bring along donations in aid of Christmas Cheer.
Jack Astor’s is offering free garlic pan bread when you bring in donations.
“Give a Toy, Get a Glass” is back at the brewery for the third year in a row! The 3rd Annual Collectible Christmas Cheer glass is ready in their Tap Room today. This year, Flying Monkeys has added the opportunity to purchase glasses for $5 each in the Tap Room with the entire $5 going to Christmas Cheer. This way, in addition to the toys, they hope to encourage cash donations that are so vital to Christmas Cheer and their service of our community.
There are many ways to donate to Christmas Cheer. You can also make a difference right now by clicking HERE and donating online.
Let’s all work together to make sure that all in need have a wonderful Christmas!
