Many people over the last week have received emails telling them that their internet bills will drop within the next few months. The discounts are expected from Third-party internet companies like TekSavvy and Distributel. The savings are a result of a ruling by the CRTC (Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommuncations Commission) that the owners of the wires (Bell, Rogers) were charging too much for third-party use.
TekSavvy has said they will be lowering prices as of Jan 1st. and so far twitter approves!
Got an email from @TekSavvyBuzz informing me that my connection speed is going UP while my bill is going DOWN. WHAT IS HAPPENING!?

Are the saving here to stay? well the CRTC says it will continue it’s analysis and eventually rates could be set higher or even lower depending on their final decision.
