From living under a bridge and homeless in 1989 to becoming a former President and CEO of a successful multimedia company, Joe Roberts is an advocate, author and Executive Director of The Push for Change. Thriving on the idea of Being On Purpose, Joe is committed to helping young people break through their most difficult barriers. Walking 24 km a day, and pushing a shopping cart (the symbol of chronic homelessness) across Canada, Joe began his journey in May (2016) in St. John’s Newfoundland. On September 22nd, Joe entered Ontario via Hawkesbury at the Quebec border accompanied by our community safety partners, The Ontario Provincial Police. Joe will arrive in Vancouver, BC on Sept. 30th, 2017, for a total of 9,000 km in 17 months.
The Push for Change Foundation is a national charity led by Joe. This awareness and fundraising campaign teams up with educators, organized labour, law enforcement, all levels of government, and both national and local community based organizations with Joe Roberts engaging at over 400 community events.
