Participate in all of the activities at your own pace and explore the Museum’s indoor galleries.
Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Areas:So bring your family for a hike or strap on your snowshoes and get outside! If heading to Tiffin: Weather permitting, Papa Bear Pond will be open for skating (bring your helmets & skates). The picnic pavilion will also be open and the fire will be lit to warm you up.
The Village of Blue Mountain:There’s no better way to spend Family Day Weekend than at Blue Mountain Village! Gather the family for a weekend of active adventure and entertainment. Skate under the stars, tour the Village by Horse & Wagon, head off on a scavenger hunt, and see daily birds of prey shows and much more! Don’t miss the fireworks show Sat at 8pm.
Wye Marsh: Wonder Wye topics we will be exploring include Animal Tracking, Snowflake Identification, Winter Bird Identification and more. Learn how to snowshoe on a guided tour of the marsh (snowshoes provided for FREE). Feature Creature: Meet Birds of Prey and Reptiles and learn more about their personalities, favourite foods, habitats, and more.
Wasaga Beach Snow Man Mania: 12th Annual. There are a variety of new and exciting events being offered this year including: craft beer tasting to complement the traditional chili cook-off, Crime Stoppers is offering a 3 on 3 hockey tournament and SK8 Georgian Bay figure skating show. Other activities include -Snowman Making Contest, Chili Cook-Off, Polar Plunge Sat 12pm, Art Show on Sat, Craft Beer Tasting Fest Sat 1-4pm, Toboggan Run, Family Skate, President’s Choice Super Dogs on Sun 11am, 1pm & 3pm, Snowman Rock Solid Wresting on Mon 1pm, and so much more!
Penetanguishene Winterama: Don’t miss the Winterama Kick-Off on Friday at Discovery Harbour featuring live music and a fireworks show at 8pm. Saturday features the Winterama Parade at 10:30am on the Main St, outdoor activities in Rotary Champlain Wendat Park, indoor activities at the arena and so much more. On Sunday check out the Winterama Tube Slide, Cardboard Box Toboggan Contest, High ropes & Obstacle course and Arm Wrestling Competitions etc. Monday can be spent on the skate trail at Discover Harbour plus there’s a live show at the Legion and family bowling.
Gravenhurst Winter Carnival: This longstanding Gravenhurst tradition celebrates the community has to offer, and features super-fun events including Puddle Jumps, Kids Events, High Speed Radar Runs, Polar Bear Dip, Donut Eating on a String, Live Entertainment and so much more! Don’t miss the Demo Derby at the Severn Bridge Fairgrounds on Sunday Feb 19 from 1pm – 4pm.
