Every game counts for the Leafs now, though that can be said for every game they’ve played over the past few weeks.
The race for playoffs is tight in the Atlantic Division. As of this writing, Toronto holds down 3rd in the Atlantic Division with a 3 point lead over the Boston Bruins. Tampa Bay and the New York Islanders aren’t too far behind either.
Now get this: if the NHL playoffs began today as things stand right now, who would the Leafs be up against in their first series? Well…
….Oh boy. Thing is, a Battle of Ontario could still be Round 1 if things stay the way they are today.
As of this writing, no team in the Atlantic Division has a chance of clinching a playoff spot tonight. The sole team in the league with a chance of doing so is the Minnesota Wild, who’ve had a chance to clinch already.
According to SportsClubStats, the Leafs have a 88% chance of making playoffs, but only a 2% chance of winning the Lord Stanley’s Cup.
