The days of Sears as a booming, staple of department stores in Canada are numbered.
While filing for creditor protection doesn’t mean the end of Sears in Canada entirely, it more than likely means the end of the Sears we grew up with.
The company announced the upcoming closure of 59 of it’s stores, meaning almost 3,000 employees will be losing their jobs. 20 large Sears stores, 15 Sears Home, 10 Sears Outlet and 14 Sears Hometown stores will soon clear their stock before locking their doors.
Included on the list of soon-to-be closing locations? Sears Home in Orillia, which focuses more on furniture and appliances.
