“Okay, so you’re Brad Pitt? That don’t impress me much.”
Apparently that line has more meaning than any of us really thought.
Back in the late 1990s, nude photos of Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt were big news in the tabloids. The photos in question, show the then-couple completely in the buff in what they thought was a private moment on vacation. The photos were printed completely uncensored in an issue of Playgirl Magazine.
At the same time, Shania Twain was recording her new album Come On Over. In a recent fan Q&A event in New York, Twain revealed seeing the photos were what inspired what would become the album’s 3rd hit single.
“This was, like, all the rage,” Twain said. “I just thought, ‘I don’t know what all the fuss is about.’ I’m like, well that don’t impress me much, I mean what is all the fuss.” – Shania Twain
She did however clarify, that the song was not entirely a diss to Brad Pitt, but his naked exploits did turn the wheels to create the song.
“I wasn’t picking on Brad Pitt,” Twain explained. “That was just the association in that moment, and things we make fusses about and whatever. Of course, it could have been any gorgeous guy.”
Twain’s Q&A in NYC was to promote her new album “Now” which comes out Sept 29th.
