2016 was the worst year for motorcycle related fatalities in 5 years, and OPP are growing concerned as that trend continues this year.
In recent weeks, OPP had to respond to multiple motorcycle collisions that resulted in serious injuries or death. Some involving other vehicles, others as a result of user error.
While police are urging bikers across the province to use safe practices while riding, they’re also reminding motorists to be aware of the vulnerabilities motorcyclists face when in traffic with other vehicles.
So far, 30 riders have died this year. 36 lost their lives in 2016.
